ROTARY

Joseph Davis has been a Rotary member since joining in Nome, Alaska in 1988. Under his leadership as President, the club founded the Friends of the Kegoayah Kozga Library to encourage literacy and public awareness of the value of libraries. Currently as member of the Anchorage Rotary Club he serves as the PR Committee Chair, is a past Board member, started the RotaryLife.org website for PR and communications about Rotary for the district (Alaska and part of Canada).

Joseph attended the Rotary International conference in Bangkok; supported the Alaska Mission of Mercy dental project; participated in the United Way 90%X2020 project to increase the rate of high school graduation in Alaska; and received club support for his volunteer technology and training work in schools in Afghanistan and orphanages in Africa. Joseph is initiating a public presentation and gathering of Rotary members from across the Arctic to explore and encourage relationships that will contribute to the future of the Arctic community. This first-time event will take place at Arctic Circle meetings in Reykjavik in October 2014. Arctic Circle is nonprofit and nonpartisan, organized as a neutral platform to increase collaboration and community-building.
