RURAL OUTREACH PROGRAMS AND EDUCATION (ROPE), INSTITUTE OF SOCIAL and ECONOMIC RESEARCH, UNIVERSITY OF ALASKA

Promoted economic gardening in rural southeast Alaskan Native communities. Travelled to twelve rural communities, gathered local information on economic potential, and provided training in e-commerce related to eco and cultural business. High school participation was emphasized, both in the classroom and in the local business e-commerce centers. Participants actively sold Native masks and boxes; artwork and natural products; sealskin iPhone cases.
