ALASKA VOCATIONAL AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION PROGRAM (VTEP)

For the Alaska Department of Labor, created and facilitated an initiative to coordinate the delivery of vocational education throughout rural Alaska. Partnering institutions represented Bethel’s Yuut Elitnaurviat, Barrow, Sheldon Jackson College, King Salmon, Ilisagvik College, Alaska Tech Center in Kotzebue, University of Alaska, Alaska Vocational Center in Seward and First Alaskans. This alliance was designed to integrate training to better serve Alaska’s youth, and to draw appropriate levels of support from state and federal government, as well as local industry. This program has flourished and is still in operation.
